We are delighted that you are considering having a Baptism or Thanksgiving service at St. John's. A Baptism is the traditional service in which water is poured over the child's head. In this service, the parents and godparents promise to bring up the child in the Christian faith. A Service of Thanksgiving is also offered for those who are not ready to have their child baptised, but would like to thank God for their birth or adoption.
We want to offer you a warm welcome and do all we can to make the occasion enjoyable and meaningful for your family.
We have created a leaflet to answer as many questions as possible for you which you can find above by clicking "Baptism Questions Leaflet". In this leaflet you will also find a form to fill in once your Baptism has been arranged including information such as photograph permission, details of the child, parents and Godparents.
