What is Baby Basics?

Baby Basics UK was founded in 2009 with the aim of providing some of the basics needed for life for vulnerable famillies with a newborn.

Baby Basics Guildford arrived in 2020 working with midwifes, health visitors and other local organisations to provide starter packs for those in need. We help vulnerable groups such as teenage mums, families on low income, and women fleeing domestic abuse and trafficking.

Our Moses baskets provide a safer place to sleep and are packed full of toiletries such as nappies wipes and maternity pads, as well as blankets, towels and baby clothes.

For some these are the only items they have for their child. Baby Basics Guildford works under the national Baby Basics team. To find out more about the national organisation please click the link above.

Nappies- Sizes 0/1/2 (unopened packets only)
Breast Pads (unopened packets only)
Baby toiletries (shampoo, wash, lotions and nappy cream)
Baby wipes
Maternity pads (upopened packets only)
Towels- baby
Blankets
Premature or 0-3 month clothing
Knitted baby hats and cardigans
Baby toys and books
Baby gym
Bouncy chair
Microwave and cold water sterilsers

Prams or pushchairs that are suitable from birth

can be accepted but by prior appointment only.

HOW CAN I HELP?

There are many ways you can helpw with the work of Baby Basics. You can refer a client, donate goods, support us fincially or volunteer with our team!

DONATIONS

You can help by donating items. Below is a list of the items we can accept. However, due to our restricted storage space it is always best to check our facebook page for an up to date donations list and to check if we are currently open to donations.

We are no longer using the church as a drop off point, as we have a new donations point located just outside the Church Centre to the left.

This will be donation point will be open

Monday to Friday from 9:30 - 13:00

Saturdays (term time only)12:00- 15:00

Please be mindful to not over fill this new container and to ensure the doors are properly closed to keep items dry. Thanks you for your kind support.

VOLUNTEERS

We're always looking for volunteers to help in a variety of ways from washing and packing to knitting - there is a role for everyone! If you are interested in volunteering in any way please email babybasics@saintjohns.org.uk.
