Bell Ringing
The bell tower has a peal of six bells which were given by the parishioners to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee of 1897. The bells were rehung in 1977.
Our bell ringers practise on a Tuesday evening from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and ring for our 10 a.m. service on Sundays. The bells are also rung for weddings and other occasions such as the Queen’s Jubilee, the Olympics, St George's Day, etc.
If you are over 10 years old ( no upper age ) and would like to see how it is done, or just have go, then please join us. It is fun, challenging and social and uses technique rather than strength.
