St. John's Summer Fete - 25th June

The Summer Fete was a great success having been absent since 2019. It was a terrific turnout of around over 250 from across the village and further afield, who supported the event magnificently. All age groups were represented and were entertained by a broad variety stalls and activities on a lovely summers day. Special thanks to Rev. Rona and family who gave us access to such lovely garden for the afternoon.   

Our thanks to Merrow Infant School and Bushy Hill Junior School for their maypole dancing and singing, which demonstrated the great commitment to the community by our local schools. Congratulations must go to the Head Teachers and staff who have spent many weeks preparing for the “big day”.

It was a relaxed, sociable atmosphere helped by the addition of two new stalls, namely BBQ and Beer Tent, which were very popular. The great effort made by the organisers and supporters on the day ensured a successful event. The donations and generous sponsorship money totalled c. £3,500 which is a record amount.
