St John's Centre is a light, modern, well-equipped building with a main hall, smaller hall, and four other smaller rooms for hire. The Main Hall is available most weekends for adult and children's parties and is very popular.
The centre is used extensively by community groups, local businesses and for private functions such as wedding receptions, baptism lunches and funeral teas.
Ground Floor Accommodation:
The Foyer with its spacious and welcoming aspect is a place where people love to drop in for a chat and coffee served by friendly volunteers.
It is an ideal reception area when used with events in the Main Hall.
The Main Hall has a high ceiling with wooden beams and a light oak wood floor. It is large enough to seat 175 in theatre fashion and up to 120 at tables. There are flexible facilities for staging and lighting to suit drama productions and piano is provided for your use. It is a popular venue for functions and offers very flexible space; e.g. an additional room can be obtained by opening the two sets of arched glass doors between Hall and Foyer.
The Merrow Hall can seat about 40 people theatre style. With its doors to the peaceful churchyard and patio area, this is ideal for community groups, smaller meetings and informal occasions. A piano is also provided.
The Kitchen is well equipped and has two serving hatches, which open onto the main hall and the foyer.
First floor accomodation:
The Seminar Room, with a seating capacity for 60 people theatre style, can be divided into two rooms. In addition, a music Keyboard in available for your use.
The Meeting Room can be used for committee and group meetings.
The Quiet Room is reserved for sessions such as counselling, volunteer groups and for parish, deanery and diocesan meetings.
Disabled Access: The ground floor is all on one level with a separate WC designed for wheelchair users. There is a wheelchair lift to the first floor. Both halls are fitted with an induction loop system.
Car Parking: The car park can take up to 28 cars and further parking space is available in the village car park.
